Shirk makes no sense

If Allah (SWT) has that power (and He’s the only One who does), then shirk (Him having partners in His domination) makes absolutely no sense. Allah (SWT) doesn’t need anyone else to administer His affairs, His judgement, His will for Him. His awareness, His knowledge, His power, His ability extends to everything; therefore no one else shares in that because He has no need for it.

One might say, “Well, He uses angels to carry out His orders and He uses Messengers to convey His guidance” and that is true, however, He reveals that He does that. This is why revealed knowledge is so crucial, because you can’t assign interpretations, attributes, actions to Him that He hasn’t explicitly revealed. There’s no room, when talking about Allah (SWT), for extrapolation (e.g., “Well, He means this…”) because that would cause confusion, as one person can extrapolate very different things from the next, which would lead to competing visions of who/what Allah (SWT) is, which causes division (the opposite of ‘Oneness’; tawheed). Who/what Allah (SWT) is has to be clear, because everything else flows from that (i.e., His vision, the way He wants to be worshipped, His orders, etc).

It also doesn’t make sense to worship anything that is less than Allah (SWT), since they all have some kind of deficiency or limitation. Only Allah (SWT) is whole. His attributes include everything (including total power). He’s missing nothing – i.e., He’s perfect (not in any way deficient).

This is also the reason why we don’t worship the Prophets or angels. They’re perfect and powerful in their own domains and their own spheres, but they still lack things. The angels lack certain knowledge. The Prophets lack certain knowledge (for example, knowledge of the unseen). Only Allah (SWT) does not lack in anything. Everything that is created, no matter how powerful or awe-inspiring it might be, will lack something, or will have some kind of limitation. It’s only Allah (SWT) that doesn’t, as we can see from His attributes and names that He’s described Himself with, and as we can see from what He revealed about Himself.
